Lord Dubious Excellent throwback styles from the old school obsessed Naram! Take a sip and take a trip back in time. Favorite track: School Them.

tr_🇺🇦 I love reggae if it has a rough edge to it, but most albums have way too many lacklustre songs. The tunes on this one, however, have reached critical mass. Relatable, musical, natural vocals without autotune nonsense. Really catchy tunes. "Bobby was a gangster" has been stuck in my head for months. Favorite track: Bobby was a Gangster.

Ozzie Dee For me the best album of 2020 and probably beyond! A killer.

    Repressed November 2020

The fire starter from Te Mata, Red Robin Records, is proud to announce its very first full length LP – showcasing the unique Waterhouse style vocals of their dear friend Winston ‘Midnight Riders’ Powell.

The culmination of nearly five years work (and two trips to Jamaica), Midnight Riders meets the Naram Rhythm Section celebrates the full breadth of 80s reggae culture – with ten tracks running from classic roots to hardcore rub-a-dub to obscure digital.

Surprisingly, this release also marks the debut album for the veteran Midnight Riders – who first cut his teeth in Jamaican studios such as Channel One and Blue Mountain in the early 80s.

With the benefit of wisdom, Midnight Riders recounts tales of long nights in the dancehall, love (lost and found) and the realities of life in the ghetto in both Jamaica and America.

With the rhythms all played, recorded and mixed by New Zealand’s rub-a-dub chemist Naram, this album is a compelling tribute to a classic period of reggae history and a must have for any serious collector.

    Mastered by Wax Alchemy (Japan)
